The Dominican Sisters of Fatima are a religious community founded in Puerto Rico in 1949 by Mother Dominga Guzman, herself a native of Puerto Rico. Their mission is to evangelize families by means of  religious-social work apostolic activity.  The goal of their apostolate is to attend to the most needy people, be it either material and/or  spiritual needs.  They do this through the evangelization of children,  youth and adults, accomplished, for the most part, through systematic home visitations.  Their motto is: "Bring Christ to the family and the family to Christ."

The Sisters founded their first convent in the United States on September 3, 1993, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They work with the Hispanic community of St. Veronica Parish, located at 533 West Tioga Street.

Their understanding of religious social work is one that  addresses the needs of the whole person, attending to both the human and the spiritual dimensions of each one.   Among the most effective apostolic projects that they have developed are:

Latin Mothers Group - for Christian and human formation,  crafts.

Evangelizers Group -for the formation of neighborhood faith  communities.

They teach at the Catholic Institute for Evangelization, and in  other adults programs.  Also they coordinate the services for the Hispanic Community with the different agencies.  They work closely with the priests of the parish, cooperating however they can for the good of the parish.
